Sarah Eichhorn is the Assistant Provost for Educational Innovation and is involved in shaping campus strategy and providing campus-wide support for innovations in classroom and online education. She assists academic units with the development of new types of educational programs, especially online programs, guiding campus policies around online programs, and promoting the use of data-driven research and analytics to improve student learning outcomes.
Most recently, Dr. Eichhorn served as Executive Director of the Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science at the University of Texas at Austin. In her previous role at the University of California, Irvine as a member of the mathematics faculty and as Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, she worked with distance learning, MOOCs as an enhancement to campus and continuing education offerings, and the emerging trends in educational technology. Dr. Eichhorn received her PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 2004.
