As the Assistant Provost for Capital Planning, Brian Bundren is responsible for ensuring the effective use of campus facilities, including over 13 million square feet assigned in support of academic activities. He plays a major role in all efforts to maintain and improve the physical infrastructure of campus in collaboration with academic and administrative units, reporting to the Associate Chancellor/Vice Provost for Budget and Resource Planning.

Brian is a licensed Architect in the State of Illinois and is a LEED Accredited Professional with over twenty years of professional experience. Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Mr. Bundren was part of the team in the University’s Facilities & Services Capital Programs division, which he joined in 2012. There, he served as Planner, Project Manager, and Senior Planner. He also previously worked for a local architecture firm as a Project Architect. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
