As the Assistant Provost for Capital Planning, Brian Bundren is responsible for strategically planning, stewarding, and managing the physical resource needs of campus in collaboration with academic and administrative units, reporting to the Associate Chancellor/Vice Provost for Budget and Resource Planning.

Brian is a licensed Architect in the State of Illinois and is a LEED Accredited Professional with nearly twenty years of professional experience, including eleven years at the University of Illinois. Most recently, he held the Associate Director for Capital Planning position in the Office of the Provost. Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Mr. Bundren was part of the team in the University’s Facilities & Services Capital Programs division, which he joined in 2012. There, he served as Planner, Project Manager and Senior Planner. He also previously worked for a local architecture firm as a Project Architect.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
