Session Tracks:

  • Technology & Tools
  • Leadership & Strategy

Session Description:

As online programs expand, many institutions struggle to build student evaluation systems that go beyond collecting feedback. Questions often arise about what to measure, which tools to use, and how to transform large volumes of student responses into meaningful, actionable insights for continuous course improvement. This session presents a practical and scalable student evaluation system that supports continuous course improvement across a large online portfolio. Attendees will see how our institution redesigned its evaluation process from the ground up, developed an interactive dashboard to visualize key performance indicators, and integrated AI-assisted analysis to help instructional designers identify patterns, prioritize revisions, and make data-informed recommendations to faculty. The presentation will include a live demonstration of the evaluation dashboard, an overview of the metrics used to monitor course quality and student experience, and examples of how AI supports efficient interpretation of qualitative and quantitative feedback while keeping instructional designers at the center of decision-making. Participants will leave with a replicable framework for building or enhancing their own student evaluation process, whether supporting a handful of online courses or managing a large-scale portfolio. The strategies presented are platform-agnostic and designed to help institutions create sustainable, data-informed practices for continuous course improvement.

Learning Objectives:

  • A framework for building a scalable and sustainable approach to student evaluation and
  • continuous course improvement.
  • Practical strategies for transforming student feedback into meaningful, data-informed instructional decisions.
  • Ideas for leveraging dashboards and AI to efficiently analyze evaluation data while maintaining human oversight and expertise.
  • Adaptable approaches that can be implemented in institutions of varying sizes, regardless of existing technology or evaluation processes.
