Stephanie Walton

Stephanie Walton assists the Associate Provost for Educational Programs and Success Initiatives and the Director for Office of Online Learning.  She also supplies secondary support to the Director of Educational Programs, Director of General Education, and the Project Manager for Student Success. Her responsibilities include office correspondence via email and phone, calendar coordination, travel arrangements, and project management. Stephanie provides support for the General Education Board, Student Success @ Illinois, and Office of Online Learning.

Melissa Newell

As the Director for General Education, Melissa is responsible for the oversight and the strategic direction of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s general education program. In this role she is responsible for ensuring the general education program purposefully connects to broader campus goals with student success always at the forefront. She works with the campus General Education Board, the General Education Assessment Committee, the Academic Senate, and departmental and college administration to manage the regular review of general education courses. She uses data generated from the learning outcomes assessment and evaluation projects of general education to address gaps in the general education program, propose innovative strategies to address these gaps, and work with offices across campus to implement appropriate strategies.

Lisa J. Anderson

Lisa J. Anderson leads the Office of Online Learning (OOL) and oversees inclusive and equity-minded strategic partnerships and initiatives that promote student success, excellence, and innovation in digital education. In her role, she collaborates with stakeholders across and beyond campus to enhance accessible online and hybrid education pathways, build capacity for mission-driven digital education, incubate and strengthen digital programs and initiatives, and direct institutional policy-making with respect to digital strategy. Anderson also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Technology Entrepreneur Center, focusing on leadership, innovation, and educational transformation. Her work and writing have been featured in national publications including Inside Higher Education, Government Technology, and EdSurge, as well as podcasts such as EdTech Insiders

Kristi Kuntz

Kristi Kuntz is the Executive Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Policies and Executive Director of the Campus Center for Advising and Academic Services. She leads efforts to ensure the quality and relevance of academic programs and to provide support to students as they explore academic pathways and options.

Kathy Martensen

As the Associate Provost for Educational Programs and Success Initiatives, Kathy Martensen provides oversight and guidance for the program and course approval processes, including the General Education Board and academics within the campus’ Living-Learning Communities.

Daniel Mann

Dan Mann is the Associate Provost for Enrollment Management with responsibility for campus enrollment, undergraduate admissions, student financial aid, registration and records, enrollment management communications, data analysis and system services, and the Principal’s Scholars Program.

Anna Mehl

As Assistant Director for Academic Compliance & Reporting, Anna Mehl collaborates with administration, faculty and staff on matters related to internal and external compliance for academic programs. She works closely with the Executive Associate Provost for Academic Programs and with campus units to identify reporting requirements, manage compliance-related data collection and provide continuous support for compliance initiatives.

Linell Edwards

Linell Edwards is the Assistant Director for Assessment and is involved in the continuing efforts to build on the student learning outcomes assessment program.

Kate Techtow

Kate Techtow is a Coordinator of Assessment and Evaluation and is involved in the processes for the university’s accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.

Staci Provezis

Staci Provezis is the Associate Provost for Planning & Assessment, ensuring that academic programs meet and exceed all regulatory requirements and are able to innovate to meet changing opportunities and priorities. She oversees the campus-wide academic program review process, is involved in campus and unit strategic planning initiatives and the campus accreditation process, and leads the university’s learning outcomes assessment work.
