Education Abroad & International Travel Policies
The internationalization of our students’ learning experience is a key priority for Illinois. The campus strategic plan includes “expanding participation in study-abroad experiences and internships that involve international placements” as one of five initiatives under the “Leadership for the 21st Century” goal. In January of 2008 the Provost created an Education Abroad Task Force to advise her in how to accomplish this goal. The Provost also has asked that Student International Academic Affairs (SIAA), also known as the Study Abroad Office, lead in formulating and implementing polices and practices in the area of student health and well-being. The following policies and practices have been approved by the Provost’s Office.
- Policy on Health & Safety in Study Abroad
- Emergency Response: Crisis Intervention and Management Abroad
- Guidelines for Individuals Accompanying Study Abroad Programs
- Forum on Education Abroad: Standards of Good Practice for Education Abroad
- Study Abroad Administrators Committee
