Illinois New Faculty Orientation (INFO)

The Illinois New Faculty Orientation is held at the beginning of each academic year for all faculty hired since August of the previous year.

As a new faculty member, you are joining a superb community of colleagues at a world-class institution that invests in supporting and advancing faculty. The day-long event will provide important information and advice to get you started at the University of Illinois.

Goals of Orientation

  • Welcome new faculty into the university’s community of teaching scholars
  • Provide practical resources for use in teaching, research, and daily university life
  • Facilitate mentoring relationships
  • Offer opportunities for collegial interaction within and beyond this cohort of new instructors and faculty
