Applied Health Sciences – Community Health

Requirements:

Policies and Procedures for students considering a transfer into Community Health:

    • Students are strongly encouraged to attend one of our Informational Meetings – dates and times are available here: http://advising.ahs.illinois.edu/ICTInformation.aspx
    • A preliminary meeting with a Community Health Academic Advisor is strongly encouraged.  Please email Carol Firkins (cfirkins@illinois.edu) if your last name begins with A-K or Chris Cosat (cosat@illinois.edu) if your last name begins with L-Z to schedule a meeting time.
    • Prospective students will be asked to complete a brief application which will include a 500-700 word personal essay and a resume.
    • A 2.8/4.0 cumulative Illinois GPA is recommended. Academic performance in CHLH classes is also evaluated as well as the statement and resume. Prospective students are encouraged to explore CHLH 100, 101, 210, 250, or 304.
    • Leadership, volunteer, or professional experiences which relate to the major are strongly considered when reviewing applications.

Application Deadlines:
Intercollegiate transfer applications are accepted at any time in the academic year.  Please go to this site for the application: http://kch.illinois.edu/kch-transfers.

Applications are reviewed at the end of the first week of the fall semester, midterm of both fall and spring semesters, and at the end of an academic semester once semester grades have posted.  Summer applications are welcome.  Students will receive notification approximately two weeks after applications are reviewed.
